CNPP Tells Buhari To Sack Malami Over Invasion Of Odili’s Residence

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, has called on President Buhari to sack the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, over the controversial and unwarranted invasion of the house of the second most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Mary Odili by security operatives.

In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu, the CNPP wondered why President Buhari is still keeping Malami as the Chief Law Officer of the federation despite several embarrassing comments and actions.

According to the statement, Malami’s continued stay in office as the Minister of Justice has become one of the biggest threats to democracy and the rule of law in the country.

President Buhari Praises Military For Maintaining Unity In Nigeria; Launches Armed Forces Emblem

President Muhammadu Buhari has lauded the Nigerian Armed Forces for maintaining peace, unity and stability in the country, urging Nigerians to celebrate them as the pride of the country.

President Buhari gave the charge in Abuja at the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem appeal launch.

The annual event was held to appreciate the gallantry, sacrifices and accomplishments of veterans of the first and second world wars, peace support operations and internal security operations in Nigeria.

At the event, the President paid tribute to veterans who devoted most of their active lives to securing the nation and the world, particularly those who paid the supreme sacrifice.

He said the country’s efforts at nationhood since independence have been challenged by civil strife, civil war and much uprising and violent agitations.

The president thereafter left for Rihyadh in Saudi Arabia to participate in a 3-day investment conference organised by the Future Investment Initiative Institute.

He will later perform the lesser Hajj in Madina & Makka before returning to the country on Friday.

36 Assembly Speakers Tell President Buhari To Declare Bandits Enemies Of State

The Conference of Speakers of Houses of Assembly has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare bandits in the Northern parts of the nation as “terrorists and enemies of the state”.

The Conference which comprises of the Speakers of the Houses of Assembly in the 36 states across the country made the call during their third annual meeting held in Katsina.

After the Conference, the Chairman and Bauchi Speaker, Abubakar Suleiman decried the worsening insecurity in the country and charged the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the problem.

Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari, was at the conference, calling on the federal government to declare a state of emergency on insecurity.

President Buhari Orders Service Chiefs To Ensure Nothing Stop Anambra Guber Election From Holding

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the military top-shots to ensure that nothing is allowed to stop the November 6 Anambra governorship election from holding.

The president said this when he presided over a meeting with the service chiefs at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The meeting was attended by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, minister of defense, Bashir Magashi, and chief of defense staff, Lucky Irabor among others.

National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno said President Buhari gave the order in response to the heightened security challenges in Anambra.

Monguno and the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, spoke to newsmen after the meeting.

Monguno also said another leader of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), Malam Bako, has been killed.

According to him, Bako was killed two days ago.
