Gunmen Kill The Village Head Of Dogon Daji Community Kaduna State

We move Kaduna state where the village head of Dogon Daji community in Sanga Local Government Area of the State, Mallam ANJA, has been shot dead by bandits.

The bandits were said to have raided the residence of the village head and shot him at close range, after which he died on the spot.

Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, SAMUEL ARUWAN, said investigation into the incident is ongoing to unravel the perpetrators of the heinous act.

Governor NASIR EL-RUFAI has expressed sadness over the death of the village head and prayed for the repose of his soul.

The governor also sent his condolences to the family of the deceased, and the entire community of Dogon Daji over the shocking and brutal killing.

Gunmen Abduct Several Female Students Of Federal Government Girls College Yawuri In Kebbi State

Gunmen have abducted several female students of Federal Government Girls College Yawuri in Kebbi State.

 It was gathered that a teacher, a vice-principal, the school security officer and a wife of a teacher were together with the students taken to an unknown destination in two Hilux Pick-Up vehicles by the bandits.

The gunmen also killed a police officer during a gun duel that lasted for several minutes.

According to police spokesman NAFIU ABUBAKAR, security operatives have launched a manhunt for the bandits with a view to rescuing the kidnap victims and arresting the criminals.

While speaking on the latest kidnap on Inspiration fm, All Out Politics, a counter-terrorism expert, TUNJI OLANREWAJU said the nation's security agency needs to be proactive in carrying out their job.

The abduction is the latest in a series of school kidnappings that have rocked the country in recent times.

In late May, about 200 students of an Islamiyya school in Niger state were abducted by gunmen.

Gunmen Abduct Hundreds Of Girls From A Boarding School In The Early Hours Of Today In Zamfara State

Gunmen have abducted hundreds of girls from a boarding secondary school in the early hours of today in the town of Jangebe, Zamfara state.

A parent and a teacher who was at the Government Girls secondary school during the attack told the BBC that more than 300 students are believed to have been kidnapped.

This comes as the state Governor BELLO MATAWALLE received another set of repentant bandits.

He urged Nigerians to appreciate his administration’s peace and dialogue initiative in the quest to curb banditry and insecurity. 

Governor BELLO MATAWALLE believes his reconciliation and dialogue initiative is for the benefit of the country and not Zamfara State alone. 

Some of the weapons and ammunition surrendered by the repentant bandits include seven AK-47, two general-purpose machine guns, one rocket-propelled grenade launcher, several live ammunitions and anti-craft ammunitions.
