Barcelona Continue Impressive Form After Getting A Late Win Against Levante

Barcelona have maintained their excellent La Liga form with a remarkable win as they came from behind to beat a Levante side awarded three second-half penalties in the pulsating encounter.

The game was immediately off to a flying start after the interval when Levante defender Son was fouled by Dani Alves, allowing Jose Luis Morales to convert from the spot.

Four minutes later the home side were handed a second penalty after Eric Garcia handballed, only for striker Roger to fail to slot home the spot kick and play right at Barca keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Blaugrana swiftly responded, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang heading in a superb Ousmane Dembele cross before two substitutes combined as youngsters Gavi teed up Pedri for a sweeping finish.

Ter Stegen's save had offered a chance for Barca to turn the game and be in control but he faced a third penalty after Maxi Gomez was fouled by Clement Lenglet - who had been on the field for less than two minutes - and this time substitute Gonzalo Melero made no mistake and sent the keeper the wrong way to level.

Levante - seven points from safety - looked to have earned a deserved point but Luuk de Jong headed home Jordi Alba's cross in added time, making him the third substitute to score in an incredible second half.

Barca remain the most in-form team in Europe's top-five leagues on a run of 11 wins and four draws from their last 15 La Liga outings.

Barcelona Beats Sevilla To Go Second In La Liga

Pedri scored a brilliant second-half goal as Barcelona beat Sevilla to move up to second in La Liga and keep their title hopes alive.

After a goalless first half, the 19-year-old midfielder showed great composure on the edge of the box to thump a shot into the bottom corner.

Sevilla had a penalty shout in the first half when Anthony Martial's shot hit Ronald Araujo's arm.

But Barcelona were the better side as Gerard Pique also hit the post.

Defender Pique, though, was perhaps fortunate not to be sent off late on as he pulled back Jesus Corona, who looked set to run clear on goal.

But Barcelona held out to take a crucial three points and extend their unbeaten run to 14 games. They are now 12 points behind leaders Real Madrid with a game in hand.

Sevilla had started the day in second place, but dropped to fourth, behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on goal difference, as their own 15-game run without defeat came to an end.

Barcelona Claim Famous El Classico Win Over Real Madrid At The Santiago Bernabeu

Barcelona thrashed runaway leaders Real Madrid in a statement win at the Bernabeu in a dominant display.

Real Madrid, who had won the previous five Clasicos, are nine points clear of Sevilla with nine matches to go after the humiliating defeat, with third-placed Barcelona a further three behind with a game in hand.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice on his Clasico debut and set up Ferran Torres on the night.

Aubameyang and Ronald Araujo headed in crosses from a rejuvenated Ousmane Dembele before the break and Aubayemang then flicked the ball into the path of Torres for their third to the bewilderment of the home crowd.

Ex-Arsenal striker Aubayemang chipped in a fourth from a Torres pass to claim his 10th goal in nine games for the Blaugrana in all competitions.

Barca are now unbeaten in 12 games and Xavi said: "I don't know if we can win the title, we can't rule out anything. Maybe we're a bit late, but this is a very big win for us.

"We were much better than Real Madrid. We played almost as a home team in the the ground. It's a day to enjoy, not only as a Barca manager but also a fan.

"We could easily have scored five or six. We changed our negative dynamic of losing the last few Clasicos."

Barca midfielder Sergio Busquets added: "If we still have a small chance to make a run for the title, we will fight until the end. It's very difficult but in football anything can happen. We are Barca."

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti took responsibility for the heavy loss, saying "it's my fault" - but urging his team to "forget it and move on".

They were missing the injured Karim Benzema, who has been the outstanding player in La Liga this season with 22 goals and 11 assists.

It would have been even worse for Real if not for keeper Thibaut Courtois, who made six saves in the game.

Aubameyang Winner Sends Barcelona Into Europa League Quarter-Finals

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his seventh goal in as many games to help Barcelona beat Galatasaray in the Europa League.

The ex-Arsenal player hit the winner to complete an impressive comeback after Galatasaray had taken the lead.

With the tie poised at 0-0 after the first leg,  Brazilian defender Marcao gave the hosts the lead before Pedri equalised with a fine individual goal.

Aubameyang's 49th-minute winner sent Barca into Friday's quarter-final draw.

Barca ran down the clock, infuriating the home crowd who started throwing bottles and plastic cups onto the field and the referee stopped the game for a few minutes while the Galatasaray players tried to calm things down.

Aubameyang, 32, joined Barcelona on a free transfer in February after four years at Arsenal and the Gabon forward has been an impressive signing.

Xavi's side had dropped into the Europa League after finishing third during the group stage of the Champions League, behind Bayern Munich and Benfica.
