France Beat Spain To Claim UEFA Nations League Title

Kylian Mbappe fired a contentious winner as France came from behind to beat Spain and become the second team to win the Nations League.

Mbappe was adjudged to be onside when he slid the ball under Unai Simon after Karim Benzema's stunning equaliser at Milan's San Siro.

Spain had taken the lead through Mikel Oyarzabal, who shrugged off defender Dayot Upamecano to beat Hugo Lloris.

Lloris produced two late saves to ensure victory for the world champions.

He first denied Oyarzabal before acrobatically keeping out Yeremi Pino's effort in stoppage time, as France became the competition's second winners after Portugal in 2019.

UEFA Ends Legal Battle Against Super League Teams

Uefa has ended its legal fight against Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid over their involvement in the proposed European Super League.

The clubs were among the 12 "founding" members of the breakaway league, which later collapsed.

The trio, who have refused to renounce the project, were being investigated for "a potential violation" of Uefa's legal framework.

Uefa says it is now "as if the proceedings had never been opened".

"The Uefa Appeals Body has declared today the proceedings null and void," a statement read.

The move comes after a court in Madrid ruled that Uefa should not punish the three remaining clubs.

European football's governing body has also said it will not yet collect he goodwill payments agreed with the other nine Super League clubs - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham plus Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan. The English clubs had agreed a combined payment of 22m Euros in June.

Kane Scores Twice To Fire Spurs Into UEFA Conference League Group Stage

Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo says Harry Kane is committed to the club and that it is time for everyone to "move forward" after the England captain scored twice on his return to the Spurs side.

Having announced on the eve of the match he was staying "this summer" following speculation about his future, Kane inspired Spurs as they overturned a first-leg deficit against Pacos de Ferreira to reach the Europa Conference League group stage.

"All the situations that have happened, are part of the past, let's look and move forward," added Nuno.

"He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. Harry's with us so we have to take advantage of it."

Trailing 1-0 after the first leg in Portugal, Kane opened the scoring after a lovely pass by winger Bryan Gil.

Kane, starting his first club game since 23 May, added a second before half-time from close range.

Giovani lo Celso capped a fine Spurs performance when his free-kick was deflected in for a third goal which sealed the hosts' victory.
