The 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League season will kick-off October 20, according to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare.

The NPFL league has been on recess since June when Enyimba were crowned champions after they beat Akwa United 3-0 to end the NPFL Super Six Championship Playoffs with 12 points from five matches.

According to Dare, a notification has been sent out to all the NPFL teams informing them of the new date. He however did not reveal when the fixtures for the season will be announced
