Grammy-Winning Producer Rexxie: From Challenging Beginnings To Stardom

Nigerian record producer, DJ, and songwriter Ezeh Chisom Faith, professionally known as Rexxie, is an award-winning producer and a two-time Grammy Award winner.

In an interview with Inspiration FM, he expressed his profound gratitude for his Grammy victories. He revealed that his motivation to pursue a music career was rooted in the challenging times during his school days when he stopped receiving financial support from his parents due to his mother's illness.

When asked how he managed to create music during the lockdown, he explained that being a producer didn't yield the expected financial returns. This compelled him to work harder to start producing his music and establish a record label with artists like Zlatan, Dapper, and the late Mohbad. His determination was fueled by his desire to create music.

Addressing the evolving role of producers in propelling artists to stardom, Rexxie observed that, at times, producers demand an excessive percentage of an artist's earnings. He believed some producers seek too much, hindering an artist's success.

Rexxie's hit songs, such as "Abracadabra," were born from Skibii's ideas, and "Fotifoyin" stands as one of his most successful records.

Discussing his collaboration with the renowned Wizkid, Rexxie conveyed his profound satisfaction and his belief in Wizkid's influence. He shared a memorable moment when Wizkid told him, "I see us making a massive club banger someday, man!" and expressed his continued enthusiasm for this prospect.

When asked about the controversies surrounding Naira Marley and the tragic passing of Mohbad, Rexxie expressed a deep concern. He maintained that his business and personal relationships with both artists made these situations hit close to home. He chose to remain silent, hoping that justice would prevail, despite acknowledging the challenges of defining justice in his part of the world.

Portable Turned Me Into Car Cleaner, Physically Assaulted Me – Former Signee, Young Duu Alleges

Young Duu, a former artist previously associated with Portable's record label, Zeh Nation, has come forward with allegations against the controversial singer.

He claims that Portable not only subjected him to menial work as a car cleaner but also physically assaulted him during his time with the record label.

These accusations surfaced in response to Portable's earlier claims that Young Duu had betrayed him after he had played a role in launching his stardom. Portable had warned Young Duu against severing the ladder that had facilitated his ascent to success, suggesting that he might require it in the future.

In counteraction to his former boss's allegations, Young Duu firmly asserted that he had not dismantled any "ladder" and departed from Zeh Nation to pursue his own success. In an Instagram Live session with his followers, Young Duu clarified, "I did not break any ladder. I did not break any ladder for those who are acquainted with me. The ladder remains intact. The person who owns the ladder suggested that I dismantle it, but I declined. Now, he claims I am trying to destroy the ladder."

Young Duu continued in pidgin, "I did not break any ladder. I'm not betraying Portable. I am striving for success. I don't believe I wronged anyone. I left Zeh Nation in pursuit of success. Portable support was just a part of it. How long? It's only now that you realise... Bro, don't misunderstand me! Let's just move beyond all these things. I don't have much to say online... Let the netizens know what they are talking about. When I was washing cars, when I was struggling, when I was being beaten, slapped, and hit, where were you all at that time?"

Singer Dammy Krane Calls Out Davido Over Alleged Debt

Singer Oyindamola Emmanuel, popularly recognised as Dammy Krane, has once more asserted that David Adeleke, also known as Davido, owes him money and appears hesitant to settle the debt.

In an early morning post on X (formerly Twitter), Dammy Krane emphasised that Davido should settle the outstanding amount, highlighting his responsibility towards Dammy Krane's daughter.

In a message conveyed with some colloquial language, the singer stated, "I understand it can be challenging for affluent individuals to meet their financial obligations, but Davido, for the sake of my child, my brother, kindly reimburse me. Nigerian school fees are not a minor matter these days; everyone is striving to secure their future. We only seek what is rightfully ours, not any form of trouble."

He continued, recalling, "Also, let's not overlook, Davido, that you took Idowest from my record label. I chose to remain silent, considering you as a brother, and refrained from making any issues for the artist, as I had already done my part in assisting him. I sincerely wish to understand why you hesitated to compensate me for a song you publicly acknowledged I composed."

Notably, Dammy Krane publicly accused Davido in September 2022 of not reimbursing him for his songwriting contributions to a previously released track despite having privately communicated with the DMW boss.
