Oladips Was Dead For Three Days Before Coming Back To Life – Singer’s Aide

Abdulrasheed Opeyemi, the personal assistant to Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, popularly known as Oladips, has clarified his management's recent announcement of the rapper's death.

According to Abdulrasheed, Oladips was erroneously declared dead by his manager, and in reality, he had been in a critical condition for three days before making a recovery.

The news of Oladips' supposed demise circulated on November 14, stating that the 'Chache' crooner had succumbed to an illness he had been battling for two years. The management released a statement mourning his passing and requesting privacy for the family during this challenging period.

In an exclusive interview with Tope Alabi on Monday, Abdulrasheed, who works with Dipsciples Music, Oladips' label, shed light on the situation. He explained there was a miscommunication with the manager, who had access to Oladips' social media accounts. The misunderstanding led everyone to believe that Oladips had passed away, as he was not breathing for three days until he was revived.

Abdulrasheed expressed his inability to reach Oladips during this critical time. When questioned about the rapper's whereabouts during the three days, he clarified that Oladips was with his family.

Furthermore, Abdulrasheed disclosed that the manager responsible for the premature announcement has been dismissed from the music outfit. While not revealing the manager's identity, he assured Oladips he would address the issue personally.

It's worth noting that Oladips established his label, Dipsciples Music, in 2019 after parting ways with LRR/Edge Records, owned by Nigerian rapper Remilekun Safaru, popularly known as Reminisce.

I Didn’t Fake My Death – Rapper Oladips

Renowned rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, popularly known as Oladips, has set the record straight, vehemently denying allegations of faking his death amid viral reports suggesting a death hoax to boost the promotion of his latest album, 'Superhero Adugbo.'

The rapper's management initially conveyed the shocking news of his demise through a statement on his Instagram page on November 15, 2023, stating that he passed away on November 14, 2023. However, conflicting reports emerged as associates, including rapper Qdot, took to social media to confirm Oladips' continued existence.

Oladips, eager to dispel the rumours, presented video evidence demonstrating his well-being, which inadvertently fueled speculation that the entire episode was orchestrated to generate publicity for his new project.

Addressing the swirling rumours on his Instagram story recently, the rapper pointed fingers at Qdot, attributing the allegations of a staged death to his fellow artist. Oladips expressed his disappointment, revealing that Qdot hastily proclaimed his vitality on social media "at a time when my family was unsure of my situation."

In a candid expression of frustration, Oladips clarified the lack of recent communication between him and Qdot, stating, "Bro, I went through it, and anything could have happened. The last me and you had any conversation was January 2, 2022. I have proof, and I will soon tell the story in full! Because why do you guys always do this in this industry, tori olorun?" (Meaning, for God's sake).

Singer 9ice Receives Honorary Chieftaincy Title In Ogun State

Renowned singer Alexander Abolore Akande, popularly known as 9ice, has received an honorary chieftaincy title in Ogun State, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.

9ice joyfully shared the news on his Instagram account through several posts. The pictures depicted him adorned with the regal embroidered cap bestowed upon him by the Oba, to whom he expressed deep gratitude. Another post captured the singer receiving the official certificate, symbolizing the prestigious title.

In his caption, 9ice wrote, "AAA. AARE AMULUDUN IJOFIN KINGDOM. IPOKIA. YEWA. THANKS TO HRM OBA MORUF AWODE. AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY OF GUSANU AND THE PEOPLE OF IJOFIN KINGDOM. YEWA OGUN STATE. THANK YOU, KABIYESI. HRM OBA MORUF AWODE. OLOLO OF IJOFIN KINGDOM."

The singer's new title, Aare Amuludun Ijofin Kingdom, aptly reflects his role as the chief entertainer of Ijofin Kingdom. Congratulatory messages, well-wishes, and traditional greetings from 9ice's fans and supporters have flooded his social media, celebrating this significant recognition.

This trend of musicians receiving chieftaincy titles is not new, as seen in the past when Nigerian singer Portable was crowned the Amuludun of Tigbo Awori Land in Ogun State in 2022. The Streets Hop singer recently celebrated the first anniversary of his chieftaincy in grand style.

In a similar vein, in 2018, Big Brother Naija star Temitope Adenibuyan, popularly known as Teddy A, was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Asojuomo of Iyere Owo in Iyere town, Owo, Ondo State, adding to the growing list of entertainers honoured with traditional titles.

Does Oladips’ ‘Super Hero Adugbo’ Album Justify The Fake Death Stunt?

The Nigerian music community, particularly hip-hop, was shocked by the sudden news of Oladips's alleged passing.

However, the mourning became confusing as conflicting reports emerged, suggesting that his death might have been a publicity stunt for his upcoming debut album, 'Super Hero Adugbo.' Observations such as the delay in his burial, contrary to Islamic customs, and reassurances from friends about his well-being added fuel to the speculation.

Oladips resurfaced on November 23, 2023, confirming that his apparent demise was a carefully orchestrated stunt. Now, as we consider reviewing his album, 'Super Hero Adugbo,' it's essential to scrutinise the ethical aspects of the fake death controversy.

Oladips' decision to employ such an extreme marketing tactic prompts us to question whether the album justifies these unconventional methods.
