Ac Milan Cut Gap On Leaders Inter With Win At Verona

AC Milan moved within touching distance of Serie A leaders Inter Milan with a comfortable victory at Verona.

Despite being without injured top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it appeared to be a welcome return to form for Milan, who have faltered of late.

Rade Krunic's superb free-kick put them in charge and Manchester United loanee Diogo Dalot scored a brilliant second after the break.

The result leaves Stefano Pioli's side three points behind city rivals Inter.

Antonio Conte's Inter team could regain a six-point lead at the top of the table if they win their home game in hand against Atalanta on Monday.

Milan, who had arrived in Verona with just one win from their four previous Serie A fixtures, led the table from October until midway through February and are chasing their first Scudetto for a decade.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two headers as Juventus beat bottom side Crotone to go within eight points of leaders Inter Milan.

Ronaldo turned home an Alex Sandro cross before powering a header in from Aaron Ramsey's ball, his 70th Serie A goal in just over two and a half years.

Crotone are the 78th team in Europe's top five leagues to concede a league goal to Ronaldo.

Weston McKennie scored Juve's third from close range.

Ronaldo is now Serie A's top scorer this season, with 18 - overtaking Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku.

Lautaro Martinez's two goals helped Inter Milan to an impressive derby win against AC Milan as they opened up a four-point gap at the top of Serie A.

The striker's early header laid the platform for a confident Inter display.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic twice went close to equalizing for Milan but the hosts were then caught out chasing the game.

A fine team move saw Martinez tap in his second then Romelu Lukaku finished another incisive counter attack with a low drive into the bottom corner.

While the normal raucous atmosphere that usually greets this fixture will have to wait until fans return to stadiums, supporters of both clubs lined the route to the ground, underlining the significance of the match.

This was the first time the sides had met while occupying the top two positions in Serie A since April 2011.

Juventus Edge Past Inter Milan To Reach Coppa Italia Final

Juventus beat Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate to reach the Coppa Italia final following a 0-0 draw in the second leg of the semi-final.

Leading from the first leg in Milan, Juve survived a couple of scares before making it to the final for the second successive season.

Former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi missed presentable chances for the visitors.

Cristiano Ronaldo was denied by two superb saves from Samir Handanovic.

Inter took the lead in the first leg through Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez but Portugal forward Ronaldo scored twice in a nine-minute spell.

Juve will face the winners of the second semi-final between Atalanta and Napoli - who meet on Wednesday with the tie 0-0 after the first leg - in the final on 19 May.

Napoli beat Juventus 4-2 in a penalty shootout in last season's Coppa Italia final.
