Neymar double sinks Manchester United at old Trafford

Manchester United’s Champions League campaign is hanging in the balance as two goals from Neymar helped Paris St-Germain secure victory at Old Trafford.

MARCUS RASHFORD had cancelled out the Brazilian’s early opener with his third goal in four games against the French outfit.

But Marquinos’ excellent second-half finish put the visitors back in front and after United midfielder Fred had been sent off for a foul on Ander Herrera, before Neymar tapped home his 38th Champions League goal.

The result leaves United level with PSG and RB Leipzig on nine points in Group H and knowing they need a draw away to the German side next Tuesday to progress to the last 16.

With 38 goals he is now two behind Sergio Aguero, who is the second highest South American goalscorer in the competition.

Newcastle shut down training ground amid outbreak fears

Newcastle United’s squad have been told to stay away from their training ground following an outbreak of coronavirus.

Following last Friday night’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, manager Steve Bruce revealed that three individuals had tested positive for the virus and were isolating at home.

Another two individuals returned positives tests prior to Sunday, which lead to another round of testing on Sunday.

The club are still awaiting the results of that round of testing.

The Newcastle squad were given the weekend off and no training took place on Monday or Tuesday, with the club assessing the situation on a day-to-day basis

Another round of testing is due to take place on Wednesday with Newcastle due to face Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Premier League on Friday night

Newcastle close training ground due to corona virus outbreak

Newcastle United’s training ground was closed on Monday as the Premier League club attempts to deal with an outbreak of coronavirus.

Manager Steve Bruce said on Friday that three players and one member of staff had tested positive. There have been reports of further cases at the club over the weekend.

Newcastle would not confirm whether training would take place on Tuesday.

Bruce’s side face a trip to Aston Villa on Friday.

After his team’s 2-0 win at Crystal Palace last Friday, Bruce admitted the situation had been “difficult to manage”.

Midfielder Isaac Hayden missed that match with illness, while captain Jamaal Lascelles, winger Allan Saint-Maximin, forward Andy Carroll and defender Emil Krafth were reported injured.

The Premier League has reported 10 new cases of coronavirus this week, to Sunday, but does not say at which clubs they were diagnosed.

Flying Eagles coach, Ladam Bosso, has announced his 20-man squad for the WAFU b cUP OF nations, which holds in Porto Novo, Benin Republic from 5th-20th Dec, 2020.

The players are a mixture of players from national youth teams and grassroot youngster.

Abia Warrior goalkeeper. Chibueze Lambert, is included, so are Wisdom Ubani, Charles Etim and Peter Olawale, who featured for the Golden Eagles at the last FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

Nigeria begins her campagn in December 6, the event also serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2021 U-20 African Cup of Nations in Mauritania .
