Why I’ll Challenge Tinubu’s Victory At Supreme Court – Atiku

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 poll, Atiku Abubakar, has resolved to challenge the judgment of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal that affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the election, at the Supreme Court.

Atiku, while addressing a world press conference at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, said his resolve was borne out of his commitment to entrench a credible democratic process.

The former Vice President, who came second behind Tinubu in the election, said the tribunal judgment affirming Tinubu’s victory failed to restore confidence.

He, however, maintained that the tribunal judgment will not destroy his confidence in the judiciary.

Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), fired back yesterday at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying the ex-president was not competent to suggest or support anybody as President of Nigeria due to his failings.

The APC flagbearer said yesterday at the APC Presidential Campaign rally held at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Ugbowo Campus, Benin, that Obasanjo failed to develop the country when he had the opportunity, instead fighting his then vice president, Atiku Abubakar, while accusing each other of spending the country’s money for their personal comfort.

The former Lagos Governor was replying to Obasanjo’s new year’s letter, in which he backed Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, and stated Tinubu and the PDP presidential candidate were unfit to lead the nation at this time.

Wike Says He Will Announce His Presidential Candidate In Next Month And Join His Campaign

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said he will make his preferred presidential candidate known in January 2023.

The Governor, stated this while commissioning the tenth flyover constructed by his administration in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Wikesaid he will also campaign for his adopted candidate nationwide.

Since the PDP presidential primary in May where he came second, Wike has been at loggerheads with PDP’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, over the National Chairmanship of Iyorchia Ayu.

Last month, Wike promised logistics support for the campaigns of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and his New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku Finally Picks Running Mate

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, has called for the support of the South-East, saying he is the region’s surest route to the Presidency.

He made the comment while addressing party supporters during his campaign rally in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

The former Vice President told the gathering that he is going to be a stepping stone to an Igbo President in the country, stressing that he is running for the third time with an Igbo man.

Atiku also promised to revive industries in the region, vowing to dredge the River Niger to boost economic activities.

His running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, who accompanied him to the rally, said his principal is the best option for Nigeria.
