US Appoints Nigerian U-16 Coach

The United States Soccer Federation has selected Michael Nsien, a Nigerian tactician residing in the United States, as the new head coach of the country's U-16 Men's under national football team on a three-year contract.

Nsien, who has over 23 years of experience as a player and coach for US clubs, becomes the first Nigerian to lead the US U-16 Men's Youth National Team.

Nsien, who was born in Oklahoma of Nigerian ancestors, possesses all UEFA Pro Coaching certifications and is regarded as a "trailblazer" for black coaches in a field where there are few.

“I feel really good about getting this role and opportunity as a first-generation Nigerian American, it is really important to me that we show that my family name and the people of Nigeria are exposed and represented in a positive way not just in the U.S. but across the world.

“I think this opportunity will bring life upon my name, my family and my country Nigeria as well and also as an American, I have a great sense of pride to represent our country and to help get the next generation of American players to the forefront”, Nsien said.

For the last four seasons, the 41-year-old has led USL Championship side FC Tulsa to the MLS Cup playoffs.

Nsien, on the other hand, suggested that this new post will provide him with fresh prospects and experiences.

Glazers Don’t Care About Manchester United Says Ronaldo

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo claims the Glazer family, the club's owners, "doesn't care about the club" on the sports front.

Ronaldo made waves after telling Talk TV that he felt "betrayed" by the club, and a portion of that conversation was made public on Monday night.

"Manchester are a marketing club - they get money from the marketing," he said.

"It will be hard for Manchester to be top of the game in the next two or three years."
The 37-year-old Portugal forward, who has only scored one Premier League goal this season, said: "The owners of the club, the Glazers, they don't care about the club, professional sport."

Ronaldo went on to say that he had never met the Glazers, who bought the club in 2005.

United's only public response to the Ronaldo interview was issued earlier on Monday, when the club said: "Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo. The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.

"Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans."

Manchester United have not won a trophy since winning the Europa League in 2017, and supporters have protested many times against the Glazers' management of the club.

"The fans are always right," said Portugal captain Ronaldo. "They should know the truth. The players want the best for the club. I want the best for the club. This is why I came to Manchester United, this is why I love this club.

"You have some things inside the club which don't help Manchester reach the top level like City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal.

"It's complicated. It's difficult. It's hard."

Ronaldo Claims He Is Being Forced Out Of Man Utd

Cristiano Ronaldo said in an explosive interview on Sunday that he feels "betrayed" by Manchester United and that manager Erik ten Hag and other top administrators are attempting to drive him out of the club.

Since Ten Hag took over as manager of United in May, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been a peripheral character on the pitch.

Ronaldo was chastised after refusing to come on as a substitute in a 2-0 victory over Tottenham last month, but he has since returned to the team and led the Red Devils in a 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa last weekend.

However, the 37-year-old was omitted from the team for United's 2-1 triumph against Fulham on Sunday, the club's last game before a six-week break for the World Cup.

“I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said of Ten Hag in an interview with the Piers Morgan Uncensored TV show.

“Not only the coach, but another two or three guys around the club. I felt betrayed.”

When quizzed again if senior club executives were trying to oust him, Ronaldo replied: “Yes, I felt betrayed and I felt like some people don’t want me here, not only this year but last year too.”

Ronaldo will return to Old Trafford from Juventus in August 2021.

His first term at United had been a successful one under Alex Ferguson's supervision, with three Premier League championships, the Champions League, and the first of his Ballon d'Or awards as the finest player in the world.

Despite scoring 24 goals in all competitions last season, United had a disastrous season, finishing sixth in the Premier League and failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Ronaldo allegedly sought to arrange a transfer before the start of this season, but no agreement could be reached with another team.

“Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed,” said Ronaldo on what he found on his return to United.

“I want the best for the club. This is why I come to Manchester United.

“But you have some things inside that don’t help (us) reach the top level as (Manchester) City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal…a club with this dimension should be top of the tree in my opinion and they are not unfortunately.”

United are fifth in the Premier League, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal.
