Guardiola Extends Man City Deal Until 2025

Pep Guardiola has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Premier League winners that would keep him at the club until 2025, stating he cannot be in a better position.

Since taking over at City in 2016, the 51-year-old former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has won nine major trophies, including four Premier League crowns.

"I am delighted to be remaining at Man City for another two years," Guardiola said in a statement released by the club on Wednesday.

"I can't thank everyone at the club enough for believing in me. I'm pleased and comfortable, and I have everything I need to execute my work well."

"I know the next chapter of this club will be spectacular for the next decade," the Spaniard concluded. It occurred in the previous ten years and will happen again in the next ten since this club is so steady.

"It felt wonderful to be here from day one." I couldn't be in a better situation."

"I am thrilled that Pep's adventure with Man City Football Club will continue," stated City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

“He has already contributed so much to the success and fabric of this organisation, and it’s exciting to think what might be possible given the energy, hunger and ambition that he clearly still has.”

Guardiola's current contract at the Etihad Stadium is set to expire at the conclusion of the season.

During his stint with the club, he has had his contract extended thrice.

Guardiola, who has 271 victories from 374 games in all competitions as City manager, claimed negotiations about his new contract extension began immediately after the squad won the Premier League championship in May.

"The minute I don't feel that - for family reasons, or I have done all I want to achieve, or I don't feel comfortable with the team, or it's not a joy to battle for another Premier League - when these sentiments evaporate, I will move away," he said.

"That is natural in life." I am not everlasting. Every day we are here brings us closer to the end. That is normal.

"However, I get a sense there's something more I need to accomplish." That's how I'm feeling right now. That is why we continue to work together."

City are presently second in the Premier League standings, five points behind leaders Arsenal, and will play RB Leipzig in the Champions League last 16 when top club football returns following the World Cup in Qatar.

Guardiola's trophy cabinet at City includes one FA Cup and four League Cups, in addition to the league titles.

Ronaldo Slapped With Fine, Match Ban By FA

Cristiano Ronaldo, a former Manchester United striker, has been fined £50,000 and banned for two matches by the English Football Association.

During an April incident in which Ronaldo shattered a fan's phone at Goodison Park following Man United's loss to Everton last season, the FA has officially completed its investigation and given Ronaldo his sentence.

This comes only one day after it was reported that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's contract with United had been mutually terminated after his heated interview with Piers Morgan criticizing the club's management and manager, Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo said that the club has stayed static following Sir Alex Ferguson's departure in 2013, with no signs of progress. He also said that he had no regard for Ten Hag since the management did not.

The Glazers, Man United's owners, also stated on Tuesday evening that they were putting the club up for sale and would be open to bids.

According to The Mirror UK, if Ronaldo joins another Premier League side, he will be punished for two games. Chelsea and Newcastle have both been linked with a bid for the 37-year-old.

Ronaldo is now in Qatar, preparing for Portugal's first World Cup encounter against Ghana on Thursday.

November 23, 2022 Glazer Family Announce They Are Open To Selling Manchester United Football Club

Glazer Family Announce They Are Open To Selling Manchester United Football Club

Manchester United's owners, the Glazer family, have said that they are willing to sell the club.

The Glazers finalized their acquisition in 2005, although they have received significant resistance from fans, notably for saddling the club with massive debts as a result of their leveraged buyout.

The Glazers published a statement on Tuesday night, November 22, through Manchester United's website, revealing that they are "exploring strategic options," including additional investment or a complete sale.

"Manchester United announces today that the board has begun a process to examine strategic options for the club," the statement said.

"The process is designed to enhance the club's future growth, with the ultimate goal of positioning the club to capitalize on opportunities both on the pitch and commercially.

"As part of this process, the board will consider all strategic alternatives, including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions involving the company.

"This will include an assessment of several initiatives to strengthen the club, including stadium and infrastructure redevelopment, and expansion of the club's commercial operations on a global scale, each in the context of enhancing the long-term success of the club's men's, women's and academy teams, and bringing benefits to fans and other stakeholders."

Avram Glazer and Joel Glazer said as part of the statement issued on Tuesday: "The strength of Manchester United rests on the passion and loyalty of our global community of 1.1 billion fans and followers.

"As we seek to continue building on the club's history of success, the board has authorized a thorough evaluation of strategic alternatives.

"We will evaluate all options to ensure that we best serve our fans and that Manchester United maximizes the significant growth opportunities available to the club today and in the future.

"Throughout this process we will remain fully focused on serving the best interests of our fans, shareholders, and various stakeholders."

The announcement came only hours after Manchester United revealed Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club after a "mutual agreement" between the two sides.

Ronaldo's exit follows an interview with Piers Morgan last week in which he attacked the club and its new manager, Erik ten Hag, for insulting him.

If United were to be sold outright, it would be likely to earn significantly more than the £2.5 billion paid for Chelsea in May by a group led by Los Angeles Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly.

British businessman Jim Ratcliffe, who previously bid for Chelsea, has shown interest in purchasing United, but the Glazers refused to sell in October.

After completing the sale of Chelsea earlier this year, The Raine Group has been chosen United's sole financial advisor.

Despite a fan backlash, the late tycoon Malcolm Glazer purchased United in 2005 for £790 million (about $1.4 billion at the time). The club is currently owned by his offspring, known as the Glazer brothers.

Ronaldo Quits Man United With Immediate Effect

Forward for Portugal Cristiano Ronaldo will quit Manchester United immediately.

The decision comes after a contentious interview in which the 37-year-old slammed the club and said that he had "no respect" for manager Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo's departure was "mutually decided" by both sides.

"The club acknowledges him for his enormous contribution during two seasons at Old Trafford," Manchester United stated in a statement.

"Everyone at Manchester United is focused on maintaining the team's development under Erik ten Hag and working together to bring success on the field," they said, wishing "him and his family well for the future."

In Ten Hag's first season as manager, United are fifth in the Premier League, with the season paused for the World Cup in Qatar.

Ronaldo is at the competition with Portugal and will skipper them in their first Group H encounter against Ghana on Thursday.

On Monday, he spoke to the media in Qatar, claiming that he would "comment when he wants" and that his spat with United will not "shake" the Portugal team.

Ronaldo, who scored 145 goals in 346 games for United, will return to the club in August 2021, 11 years after leaving to join Real Madrid.

He had just over seven months left on his £500,000-a-week deal with United, and his exit frees him to join with another club when the January transfer market opens.

"Following discussions with Manchester United, we have mutually decided to finish our contract early," Ronaldo stated in a statement.

"I adore Manchester United and its supporters, and that will never change." However, it seems that the time has come for me to seek a new challenge.

"I wish the squad the best of luck for the rest of the season and in the future."
