Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Eniola Ajao, has shed light on the rationale behind awarding popular crossdresser Bobrisky with the "Best Dressed Female" accolade at the recent premiere of her movie, 'Ajakaju.'

Reports surfaced of controversy surrounding Bobrisky's win at the movie premiere held in Lagos over the weekend. However, in a recent interview with Arise TV, Ajao clarified that the award was intended as a playful stunt.

"It was all in good fun. We wanted to generate buzz around the movie. My team and I felt it was necessary to create some excitement. So, we decided to give the Best Dressed Female award to Bobrisky, given his reputation for stirring up controversy," Ajao explained.

She emphasized that the decision was made to spark conversations and draw attention to the film. Ajao also addressed the backlash directed at Femi Adebayo, who presented the award.

"He simply presented the award; it wasn't his idea, nor was he involved in the judging process. Nigerians should refrain from criticizing him," Ajao appealed.
