Toke Makinwa, the renowned Nollywood actress, has disclosed a significant shift in her perspective, revealing that she no longer views cheating as a relationship deal-breaker. This revelation came to light in a podcast released on Thursday, where Toke openly shared her evolving stance on infidelity.

Notably, Toke has faced public scrutiny in the past over her ex-husband, Maje Ayida's alleged infidelity. Despite this, she expressed that with age, she has come to recognise that women, too, can be prone to cheating, and the primary deterrent is often one's self-restraint.

She said, "I think many women need to reject the stigma. If I cheat, it’s okay for the man to do the same to me. I feel like I have gotten to a place where you can’t shame the shameless. If I cheat tomorrow and you want to leave, I will respect you. If you want to stay, don’t use it to taunt me because I have won the crown of a cheater."

Toke candidly admitted that, as she matured, her perspective evolved, acknowledging the reality that both men and women are capable of infidelity. She added, "It’s easier for a woman to cheat; it’s self-restraint that stops us. The reason why I’m not quick to put you out is I might be the first person to cheat on you. Forgive me as I have forgiven you."
