In a recent Instagram post, sensational singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has addressed the misconceptions surrounding his status in the music industry.
Contrary to popular belief, Spyro clarified that he has been in the industry for a longer time than most Nigerian artists.
Taking to his Instagram page on Tuesday, Spyro shared a post that aimed to dispel the notion that he is a newcomer. The post humorously mentioned how many people perceive him as a "new cat," but in reality, he has been around way before many of their favorite artists.
To emphasize his point, Spyro attached a clip and art cover of his throwback songs to the post. He revealed that his musical journey initially started with aspirations to take over from the late Dagrin as a rapper before transitioning to singing.
The talented artist also disclosed notable collaborations from earlier in his career. As early as 2010, when he still went by the name "Freeze" and focused on rapping, Spyro had the opportunity to work with Tiwa Savage. He further mentioned a collaboration with the late Sound Sultan in 2014, showcasing his dedication and perseverance in the industry.
Reflecting on his journey, Spyro expressed his gratitude for the progress he has made this year, acknowledging that he has been grinding relentlessly until finally receiving recognition from God.
