Nigeria Governors’ Forum Pledges To Help Rebuild Shasha Market In Ibadan

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum has pledged to help rebuild the Shasha Market in Ibadan, Oyo State after it was burnt down last Saturday.

A delegation of the NGF led by Kebbi State Governor, ABUBAKAR BAGUDU delivered the promise after a tour of the troubled spot.

BAGUDU, who was joined by his counterparts from Zamfara, Kano, and Niger States, however, noted that contrary to the pictures being circulated on social media, the calm had been restored in the city.

He also commended the host Governor, SEYI MAKINDE, for his efforts in restoring peace and normalcy to the community.

Speaking with newsmen, Governor BAGUDU said the recent mayhem in the community was not a tribal conflict but only a regrettable and spontaneous reaction to emotions.

The governors later visited Ogun state where a stakeholders meeting was held to resolve the farmer-herder crisis in the state.
