Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ Album Breaks Spotify Streaming Records

Since its release, Burna Boy's sixth studio album, 'Love, Damini,' has been making waves both locally and internationally.

The album's success has been further amplified by the popularity of its lead single, 'Last Last,' which has become a chart-topper and crowd favorite. As a result, 'Love, Damini' has now surpassed Burna Boy's previous most streamed album, 'African Giant,' which was released in 2019.

One of the key contributors to this achievement is the massive success of 'Last Last,' which has garnered an impressive 256 million streams on Spotify.

Additionally, the collaboration with Ed Sheeran on the track 'For Your Hand' has also played a significant role in boosting the album's streaming numbers, surpassing 161 million streams.

Another standout track, 'Its Plenty,' has amassed over 61 million streams, adding to the album's overall success.

'Love, Damini' marks Burna Boy's fourth album in a span of five years, following the release of his third album, 'Outside,' in 2018.

This latest record continues Burna Boy's streak of consecutive Grammy nominations, with 'African Giant' (2019) and 'Twice As Tall' (2020) being his previous Grammy-nominated albums.

While 'Love, Damini' may not have received the same level of critical acclaim as 'African Giant' and 'Twice As Tall,' it has resonated strongly with audiences worldwide, particularly due to the international success of 'Last Last.'

The album's commercial acclaim has solidified Burna Boy's position as a global music icon, and 'Love, Damini' is another testament to his musical prowess and artistry.

2023 Election: Singer Burna Boy Fumes, Replies Nigerians Attacking Him Over His Silence

Nigerian megastar Burna Boy has reacted to criticisms coming his way amidst the 2023 election.

Against the backdrop of election controversies across Nigeria, Burna Boy used his Instagram story to urge the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the election transparently and resist any attempt to manipulate the results.

Burna Boy went on to emphasize that the electoral body should ensure that the Nigerian people are allowed to freely choose their preferred presidential candidate without any external influence.

However, his post didn’t get him back in Nigerians good book as they dragged him for only speaking out about societal ills when it pleases him.

The Grammy winner stated that he was surprised that people were making a big deal over his silence regarding the election given that he has never been in support of any candidate.

According to Burna Boy, he has never believed in any candidate so he doesn't want to influence the electorate who will blame him after such a candidate inevitably messes up.

He also shares that while he won't be involved in the process as he doesn't believe in it, he hopes the votes count and the best man wins.

"I dunno why it's such a big deal to some Nigerians that I've not been vocal about the elections. Personally, I don't have a candidate that I believe in. I've never supported any political party or candidate in my life because I don't want to make you vote and then blame me when the person fucks up, as usual, That being said, I hope all votes count and the best man wins."

This is not the first time he has been criticized for not acting like the giant he claims to be, especially because he likes to sing about the plight of the people while exhibiting oppressive behavior.
