May 17, 2022 Police Commission Promotes Former EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Magu To AIG Just Before Retirement

The suspended former Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.

The spokesperson of the Police Service Commission, Ikechukwu Ani, Announced the development on Monday.

The development comes amid Magu’s expected retirement from the Nigeria Police Force, having clocked the mandatory retirement age of 60 on the 5th of May.

Magu was promoted alongside some senior officers at the 15th Plenary Meeting of the commission.

Ani said the commission also approved the promotion of 23 Deputy Commissioners to the next rank of Commissioners of Police; 31 Assistant Commissioners to Deputy Commissioners of Police and 63 Chief Superintendents of Police promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police.
