According to an Opta poll, the former PSG midfielder made 15 successful dribbles against Italy at the 1994 World Cup in the United States, accounting for 83% of the total.

Jairzinho of Brazil and Paul Gascoigne of England are tied for second place on the list with 13 dribbles each.

Jairzinho accomplished this accomplishment against Uruguay in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, while Gazza excelled against Cameroon at the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Sandro Mazzola of Italy is ranked fourth. The renowned former Inter striker averaged 75% success rate on 12 successful dribbles versus Poland in the 1974 edition of the tournament in Germany.

Mazzola won four Serie A championships in 1963, 1965, 1966, and 1971, two European Cups in 1964 and 1965, and two Intercontinental Cups in 1964 and 1965 throughout his playing career.

Reinhard Libuda, a German winger, is rated fifth on the list after making 12 successful take-ons during Germany's match against Bulgaria at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.

In a World Cup game, Johan Cruyff, the late Diego Maradona, and Eusebio all had 12 dribbles.

Cruyff had 12 successful dribbles against Sweden in the 1974 edition of the tournament in Germany, while Maradona had the same number against England in the 1986 edition as Eusebio did against Hungary in 1966.

According to Opta, the quintet Jean Tigana, Maradona, Jose Valencia, and Lionel Messi also made 11 successful dribbles in a World Cup game.

Tigana had 11 dribbles against Austria at the 1982 World Cup, while Maradona had 11 take-ons against Austria in the same event.

Jose Valencia had 11 dribbles against Hungary in the 1978 World Cup, as did Lionel Messi against Mexico in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Meanwhile, Eden Hazard had ten successful dribbles in two World Cup games against Brazil and France in 2018.
