April 5, 2024 Nwabali: No Club Has Approached Me For Possible Transfer

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has disclosed that he has yet to receive any official offers from clubs following his standout performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Previously, there were reports suggesting interest from various clubs, including Queens Park Rangers, Union St Gilloise, and Al Ettifaq from the Saudi Arabia Professional Football scene, in acquiring the services of the talented shot-stopper.

However, Nwabali, who played a crucial role in Nigeria's runner-up finish at AFCON 2023, clarified in an interview with FARPost that he hasn't been directly approached regarding any potential transfer discussions.

Speaking candidly, Nwabali stated, "To be honest, I haven't received any concrete offers since AFCON."

He elaborated, "Perhaps these clubs might have engaged with my team or my manager. But at this juncture, there's little we can do. Moreover, it's unprofessional for them to approach me directly. They must go through my club or my manager."

The goalkeeper highlighted the common practice of clubs keeping transfer negotiations discreet until the appropriate time, typically around the summer or during the transfer window.

He explained, "Many clubs prefer to keep their interests under wraps until they are ready to make a move. This strategy avoids alerting other potential suitors. So, at present, I'm in the dark about any concrete offers."

Nwabali concluded by expressing his uncertainty about his future in terms of transfers, emphasizing that he remains focused on his current commitments until any official developments arise.
