The Lagos State Magistrate Court in Ikorodu is gearing up to address a significant matter brought forth by Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad. His aim? To seek a DNA test for his grandson, Liam.

This development was relayed through a statement issued by Monisola Odumosu, the leader of the Aloba family’s legal team. According to the statement, a specific date has been scheduled for the initial hearing of the application for a DNA test. The matter is identified as Joseph Aloba v Cynthia Omowunmi Aloba and bears the reference code MKD/31/FAM/2024.

The statement elucidated, “The family, represented by the deceased’s father, is seeking an order directing a deoxyribonucleic acid test to be conducted following the paternity of an alleged son of Mr. Ilerioluwa Promise Oladimeji Aloba (deceased), Liam Aloba, in a recognized and accredited private or government medical facility within Lagos State, Nigeria, at the expense of the applicant.”

In recent events, Mohbad’s father has urged the authorities to investigate his daughter-in-law, Omowunmi, regarding the circumstances surrounding the singer’s untimely demise on September 12, 2023.
