May 19, 2021 Lagos State Government Launches The First And Last Mile Bus Scheme

As part of its efforts in achieving a fully integrated inter-modal transport system, the Lagos State Government has formally launched The First and Last Mile Bus Scheme.

It is also an innovative transport option which gives commuters in communities outside the main transit corridor, a wider berth in accessing transport routes.

Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU stated at the First phase of the formal launch of the scheme in Lagos House Ikeja.

He said that his administration is working tirelessly to fulfill its campaign promises adding that it would enhance the movement of the people from one community to another.

Also, Speaking Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, ABIMBOLA AKINAJO, said the Lagos First and Last Mile Bus Scheme which would be run by private operators with the use of central ticketing system.

Commissioner for Transportation, FREDRIC OLADEINDE, said the launch of the Lagos First and Last Mile Bus Scheme was in commitment of the state government to develop integrated multi-modal transport system that is safe, comfortable, supports economic prosperity of the state.
