David Beckham had to hop over a fence to avoid people while cheering for his son Romeo Beckham, who was making his debut for Brentford’s B team during a football match in south east London.

David, the ever-supportive father, was spotted beaming as he watched Romeo, 20, go to the field as a replacement in the second half of the match.

Romeo joined the west London club last week on loan from his father’s own US club, Inter Miami II.

However, it seems that the 554 aficionados of the beautiful game in attendance at the event were quickly sidetracked when they discovered the celebrity seated in the audience, quickly mobbing him in the hopes of getting a photo.

David was spotted smiling as he sat among the crowd, seeming to oblige for the first few people before making a fast getaway from the grounds.

It wasn’t long before the father of four was seen climbing out of the stands and hopping over a barrier as he exited Park View Road Stadium.
