MACBAN Distances Itself From Killing Of Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has condemned and distances itself from the death of Mrs OLUFUNKE OLAKUNRIN.

 

The group in a statement issued in Abuja by the National Secretary of the association, BABA NGELZARMA, commiserated with FASORANTI on the death of his daughter.

 

NGELZARMA said that the association was shocked on how a section of the media in collaboration with elements in the country attributed the killing to Fulani herdsmen.

Olusegun Obasanjo Writes Another Letter To President Buhari.

Former President, OLUSEGUN OBASANJO has again written another letter to President BUHARI, warning that Nigeria is tipping towards a dangerous cliff and only him could forestall such a looming disaster.

 

He said Nigeria has been consumed by violence and ethnic divisions since BUHARI assumed office four years ago, in a manner not seen for decades.

 

In the Letter, OBASANJO said the world, especially Western countries, has been warning Nigeria against descending into a state of violence because any outbreak would be difficult to contain.

 

He therefore warned that for President BUHARI to be able to stop the “smouldering ethnic agitations”, he would have to stop fanning “the embers of hatred, disaffection and violence.”

Nigeria’s Total Public Debt Rise To N24.947 Trillion As Of March 31.

Nigeria’s total public debt rose to N24.947 trillion as of March 31, from N24.387 trillion as of December 31, 2018, growing marginally by 2.30 per cent, the Debt Management Office said.

 

A statement issued by the office on Wednesday in Abuja said that the debt stock comprises of domestic and external debts of the Federal Government, the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory.

 

It added that the debt which rose by N560 billion was accounted for largely by domestic debt which grew by N458.36 billion, while external debt also increased by N101.64 billion during the same period.

Senate To Receive List Of Ministerial Nominees From President Buhari For Consideration And Approval.

The much expected list of Ministerial nominees will get to the senate this week for consideration and approval.

 

Senate President, AHMAD LAWANwho stated this at plenary said that the executive arm of government was working hard to ensure that the list was ready early enough before the senators proceed on their annual two-month recess

 

AHMAD LAWANwas reacting to a point of order raised by Senator BASSEY AKPAN to the effect that the delay in the submission of the list could affect the holidays of the senators.

 

He however, assured his colleagues and Nigerians that President BUHARI would send the list to the Senate before the week runs out.
