Doors Are Not Open For Black Managers- Vieira

"Doors are not open" for black managers, says Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira.

Vieira, the only black manager in the Premier League, says more needs to be done to encourage black players into management.

"We have to give opportunities to people of colour," Vieira told BBC's Football News Show.

"We are as good as anybody else. And we need to have no more or less opportunity than anybody else.

"When you are looking at the top five leagues in the world and you're looking at the number of black coaches you have in the first or second division, it is not enough.

"There is a lack of opportunity there. There is a lack of connection from black players to connect ourselves a little bit more with people who are making the decisions.

"But overall I believe that the doors are not open for us to do what we can do and to go into management. When I talk about management I'm talking about the team, but I'm also talking about the higher level as well.

"We need to be given more opportunities to show that we are as good as anybody else."

Ronaldo Returns To Man Utd Group Training

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to group training after being ordered to train alone last week by manager Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo, 37, refused to come on as a substitute against Tottenham last Wednesday and was subsequently dropped for Saturday's 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

It is understood there has been communication between Ronaldo and Ten Hag over the the past few days.

Ronaldo blamed the "heat of the moment" after he left Old Trafford before the end of United's 2-0 win over Spurs, having left the bench and walked down the tunnel in the 89th minute.

The Portuguese's presence in training suggests he is in contention to play in Thursday's Europa League Group E home game against Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol.

Defender Harry Maguire and midfielder Donny van de Beek also trained on Tuesday after recent injury problems.

Bangladesh Secure Win Over Netherlands In T20 World Cup

A resilient performance in the field led Bangladesh to a nine-run victory over the Netherlands in their Super 12s opener in the Men's T20 World Cup.

Defending 144, Tigers fast bowler Taskin Ahmed took two wickets with the first two balls of Netherlands' chase.

Two run outs in the fourth over then had the Dutch reeling at 15-4 and they were unable to recover.

Colin Ackermann scored 62 from 48 balls but they were bowled out for 135, Taskin claiming an impressive 4-25.

The victory was Bangladesh's first ever win outside of the first round of a Men's T20 World Cup.

After being put in to bat, the Tigers slipped from 43-0 to 76-5, with Dutch seamer Paul van Meekeren taking 2-21.

Afif Hossain top-scored with 38 from 27 and some late hitting from Mosaddek Hossain, who made 20 not out from 12, allowed Bangladesh to post 144-8.

It looked a below-par total but the Bangladesh bowlers responded brilliantly, assisted by some poor judgement by the Netherlands batters.
