Around 1,500 Bodies of Hamas Militants Have Been Discovered In Israel, Says Army

Around 1,500 dead of Hamas militants have been discovered in Israel near the Gaza Strip, the army said on Tuesday as it continued to bombard the Palestinian territory with air strikes.

“Approximately 1,500 bodies of Hamas (fighters) were found in Israel around the Gaza Strip,” military spokesman Richard Hecht told reporters, adding that security forces had “more or less restored control over the border” with Gaza.”Since last night we know that no one came in .. but infiltrations can still happen.”

The army had “nearly completed” evacuation of all the communities around the border, he added.

Hecht said the military had deployed 35 battalions to the border area.

Israel is suffering from a horrific onslaught by Hamas terrorists who stormed the border fence with a torrent of rocket fire on Saturday morning, killing over 900 Israelis.

In response, Israel has launched a major air and artillery bombardment on Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip, killing at least 687 people so far.

The Israeli military bombed what it said were Hamas targets in Gaza early Tuesday, particularly in the Rimal neighborhood and the southern city of Khan Yunis.

Olisa Agbakoba Expresses Concern Over Public Debate On Tinubu And Atiku’s CSU Records

Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, the former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has voiced his disappointment at the public discussions involving lawyers on the President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's Chicago State University (CSU) matter.

He expressed concern about the discordant voices and urged restraint in these discussions.

Agbakoba cautioned against what he saw as a cacophony of opinions and debates that have emerged regarding the controversy over CSU records, warning that these armchair lawyers are dangerously inflaming tensions in Nigeria. Taking to his social media platform on Monday, the legal expert implored individuals to refrain from publicly expressing their opinions and views and instead await a decision from the Supreme Court.

He stated, "The cacophony of discordant voices on Tinubu/Atiku over the certificate matter is completely out of hand. This utter nonsense from armchair lawyers is heating Nigeria dangerously." Agbakoba continued, "Please, can we keep our opinions and views to ourselves, awaiting a decision of the Supreme Court?"

Agbakoba further expressed his shame at seeing lawyers on television arguing about the merits or demerits of the Chicago State University matter, which he deemed unhelpful. He called upon the media to refrain from adjudicating the CSU matter through TV broadcasts and newspapers.

Additionally, Agbakoba urged the President of the Nigerian Bar Association to address lawyers who breach the rules of ethics by using the media as a pseudo-court of law. He emphasised the need to stop contributing to the escalation of tensions in the country and let the Supreme Court of Nigeria make a judicial pronouncement binding for all parties involved.

In conclusion, Agbakoba stressed the importance of allowing the legal process to unfold and respecting the decision of the Supreme Court rather than engaging in public debates that could further polarize the nation.
