Job Racketing Probe: Reps Refutes Allegation Of Collecting Bribe From MDAs

Yusuf Gagdi, the Ad-hoc committee chairman tasked with probing job racketeering within Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), has addressed the recent allegations of bribery and extortion involving a committee member.

In light of these allegations, the committee has summoned all Vice Chancellors from Federal Universities to appear today. Their appearance aims to provide documentary evidence relating to the claims of bribery and extortion attributed to a member of the Ad-hoc Committee.

Yusuf Gagdi delivered this notice during the continuation of the investigative hearing focused on job racketeering across more than 900 MDAs. As part of the proceedings, Gagdi dismissed allegations of extortion by certain MDAs.

Gagdi, in response to an online report that implicated lawmakers in the extortion of funds from agencies, emphasised that it was unjust to label all 37 members of the Ad-hoc Committee as 'corrupt' based on the actions of a few. He underscored that the committee remains resolute and undeterred by any attempts at orchestrated defamation.

The summoning of the Vice Chancellors and the ongoing investigation highlights the committee's commitment to addressing these allegations head-on and ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in the operations of the MDA.
