Today, August 3, 2023, brought a terrifying experience for Big Brother Naija star Hermes Chibueze Iyele, fondly known as Hermez, as he survived a car accident.

The reality star took to his Instagram story to share a photograph of his black Mercedes, which bore the impact of the accident on its front grill.

Expressing his gratitude for his survival, Hermez captioned the post with, "Bless God for life and safety." Concerned about his followers' worries, he uploaded a video to address them and assured everyone that he was fine, with no injuries sustained by anyone involved.

"I know a lot of you have been checking up on me since I posted on my story," he said in the video, "I was involved in an accident yesterday, and everyone came out of it safe. So there is nothing to worry about."

Although he admitted to experiencing some side effects from the encounter, Hermez reassured his supporters that he was okay. He sincerely thanked them for their care and said, "I can't thank God enough for that. That was scary, I'm still a bit shaken up. Thank you for your concern and well wishes."

Prior to the accident, Hermez was publicly seen in the Oworonshoki area of Lagos State, raising awareness about the displacement of residents occurring in that area due to demolitions by the state government. He disclosed that he used to live in that area before gaining fame as a member of the Big Brother Naija cast in 2022.
