February 18, 2024 Bandits Kill Ex-CBN Director, Others In Kaduna, Abduct Over 50

Despite the challenges posed by insecurity, the Kaduna State Government remains resolute in delivering development and good governance to its people.

Recent incidents, including the tragic killing of six individuals, including a former Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria, by bandits in Kwassam and Sabon Layin communities, highlight the pressing need for enhanced security measures.

While the police are yet to confirm the incident, Josiah Abraks, the spokesperson of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), reported the bandit attack in Kwassam, urging the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts against these recurrent threats in Southern Kaduna. Governor Uba Sani has appealed to the military to sustain aggressive operations in key areas, emphasizing the commitment to securing lives and properties.

Commissioner Samuel Aruwan, representing Governor Sani, conducted an assessment tour of recently attacked areas, including Kerawa and Sabon Birni wards. Kerawa, a long-affected community, witnessed recent bandit attacks resulting in casualties and kidnappings. The government, accompanied by the Nigerian Army's One Mechanised Division, is engaging with affected communities to address challenges and assure residents of ongoing efforts to end banditry.

Despite these challenges, the Kaduna State Government stands firm in its dedication to bringing positive change and governance to its people amidst the prevailing insecurity.
