Those who feel they have another country free to go –Buhari

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has said Nigerians who felt that they had another country outside Nigeria might choose to go.

He said he and others who did not have another country would rather stay back and salvage it together.

The President made this comment while receiving the All Progressives Congress governorship aspirants and members of the party from the three senatorial zones of Kwara State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He also enjoined Nigerians to remain faithful and loyal to the country in all their dealings.

The National Chairman of the ruling party, ADAMS OSHIOMOLE who was part of the meeting said he remain committed to justice and fairness to all members across the country.

BREAKING: FEDERAL HIGH COURT GRANTS AYO FAYOSE BAIL

The Federal High Court has granted embattled former governor of Ekiti state, AYO FAYOSE, bail to the tune of 50 million Naira.

The former governor is on trial for money laundering and abuse of office.

Presiding judge, MORENIKEJI OLATOREGUN, granted the a few hours ago, adding that he must provide two sureties who must issue a 50 million Naira bond in a reputable bank, as well as possess three years’ tax clearance.

She also directed that the former governor must deposit his international passport with the court.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had on Monday arraigned FAYOSE on 11 counts of alleged money laundering, amounting to 2.2 billion Naira.

The trial has now been adjourned till November 19.

Senate passes Electoral Act amendment bill

The Senate has passed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill for third reading.

The passage followed the adoption of the report by the joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee on the bill, which was presented by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission, Senator SULEIMAN NAZIF.

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI had withdrawn assent to the bill three times, raising various constitutional and drafting issues.

The committee had addressed the issues raised by the President in a harmonised, fourth version of the bill, as stated by Chairman, Senate Committee on INEC, SULEIMAN NAZIF.

Senate President BUKOLA SARAKI, expressed hope that President BUHARI would assent to the bill when transmitted by the National Assembly.

The Governor of Lagos State, AKINWUNMI AMBODE, has promised to campaign vigorously for President MUHAMMADU BUHARI and the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate of the state, BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU.

AMBODE addressed reporters at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport shortly after he accompanied President BUHARI to perform the official commissioning of the new Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Seme-Krake joint border post in Badagry yesterday.

The Governor said it is important for the APC to retain its leadership positions both at the federal and state levels.
