The curtains have closed on "The Johnsons," a beloved Nigerian comedy series, after entertaining audiences for an impressive 13 years.
Charles Inojie, the Nollywood actor who portrayed Lucky Johnson, took to his official Instagram account to share the news of the show's conclusion. In his heartfelt post, he expressed gratitude to Africa for embracing the show for over a decade, describing it as a journey filled with magic and awesomeness.
Inojie's message read, "THANK YOU, AFRICA. After 13 years of absolute magic, 13 years of awesomeness, 13 years of being Africa’s most-watched show on television, and 13 years of being every family’s favorite, THE JOHNSONS is finally taking a bow."
He went on to acknowledge the incredible cast and crew whose dedication contributed to the show's remarkable success. Inojie extended his appreciation to the devoted viewers across the African continent, whose unwavering support made the journey memorable.
As the series bid farewell, it also marked the departure of some beloved cast members, including Ada Ameh, known as Amu Johnson, who passed away in 2022, and Samuel Ajibola, known as Spiff, who left due to personal reasons.
Though "The Johnsons" has come to an end, its legacy of laughter and entertainment will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of its fans for years to come.
