Nigerian Actress Aderounmu Adejumoke, known for her role as Esther in the renowned Funke Akindele series "Jenifa's Diary," has passed away at the age of 40.

The news was confirmed by Nigerian filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi on his Instagram account today, Monday, April 8, 2024.

"Jumoke Aderonmu, a former star of the hit series 'Jenifa's Diary,' has sadly passed away, as tweeted by a family member. Further details are yet to be confirmed. May she rest in peace," his Instagram post expressed.

Aderounmu kicked off her professional acting career in the 2008 Tunde Kelani film "Arugba," where she portrayed Princess Mobandele alongside Bukky Wright, Bukola Awoyemi, and Segun Adefila.

The industry and fans have been deeply saddened by the news. Actress Akindele expressed her sorrow, stating, "Sad!!!! @jideawobona I still asked about her. Omg. May her soul rest in peace."
