The Brickhall School in Abuja has decided to observe a one-week closure in memory of its late four-year-old student, Miguel Ovoke. The closure comes following the tragic passing of Miguel, who was declared deceased at Excel Specialist Hospital in Abuja.
According to the medical report signed by Dr. Akinwande Ajayi, on behalf of the hospital's medical director, Miguel was brought in due to his aspiration to eat meat while feeding at school. The report detailed the efforts made by the medical team to resuscitate Miguel, unfortunately, all attempts were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced "Brought in Dead."

In response to the heartbreaking loss, the school management released a statement expressing their deep sorrow and condolences to Miguel's family. Despite the immediate and expert care provided by the school staff and nurse, Miguel's life could not be saved.
The school's decision to close for one week aims to provide time for mourning and reflection within the school community. They urge everyone involved to honor Miguel's memory with dignity and peace while awaiting the conclusion of the autopsy by medical professionals and law enforcement agencies.
