During interviews conducted over the weekend, several passengers voiced their concerns, stating that the road has become increasingly perilous due to the activities of 'one-chance' criminals.

Sarah Oladele, a teacher, shared her apprehension, revealing that she refrains from venturing out past 7 pm for fear of encountering danger. She emphasized the importance of safety for herself and her loved ones, urging divine protection.

Similarly, Rebecca, a hawker, admitted to continuing to use the road out of necessity despite the growing menace of 'one-chance' robberies. She recounted incidents involving acquaintances who fell victim to such crimes, highlighting the alarming frequency of attacks.

Kamoru Babajide, a bus driver, disclosed his cautious approach to passenger selection, limiting the number of male passengers in his minibus to mitigate the risk of 'one-chance' robberies. He acknowledged the widespread concern among commuters and drivers alike.

A.Y., a victim of 'one-chance' robbery, recounted his harrowing experience of being held at gunpoint during a journey from Ibafo to Berger. He described the traumatic ordeal of relinquishing his belongings under duress before being forcibly ejected from the vehicle.

In the early hours of Saturday near Mowe, three individuals lost their lives in a devastating accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), dangerous driving leading to a loss of control was a contributing factor to the crash. Despite efforts by the FRSC rescue team to save the lives of the victims, including the driver and two passengers, the impact of the injury proved fatal. The remains of the victims were deposited at a morgue in Sagamu.

The official statement from the FRSC described the rescue operation around 0107 hrs, involving two vehicles – a Bluebird with registration number T-15636LA and a HowoTruck with no visible number plate. All three male occupants of the Howo truck succumbed to their injuries caused by the fallen container.

A tow truck and crane were summoned to alleviate traffic congestion by removing the affected vehicles and container. The FRSC emphasized the importance of defensive driving and adherence to traffic rules, urging motorists to anticipate the actions of others to prevent accidents on the road.
