June 29, 2022 Widow, Parents To Share Chadwick Boseman’s $2.3 Million Estate

The estate of the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman will be divided equally between his parents Leroy and Carolyn Boseman and spouse Taylor Simone Ledward-Boseman.

The actor unexpectedly passed away from colon cancer in 2020, and because of his untimely death, there was no will to instruct the family on how to manage his wealth.

According to court records, Boseman's estate was initially estimated to be worth $3,881,758, but after paying for his expensive burial and legal bills, the valuation was reduced to $2.5 Million plus $157,000 in cash.

Responsible parties for the $2 million
Ledward-Boseman, Boseman's widow, presented paperwork detailing all costs incurred after his passing and requested reimbursement. The actor's parents will be buried nearby at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, and the purchase of a plot of land close to the actor's last resting place cost roughly $50,000.

Chadwick Boseman, Inc., the actor's business, is said to have owing $51,000 in taxes, and $900,000 was used to post a bond in a probate dispute. The two parties will each receive $1.15 million of the remaining $2.3 million.

It is claimed that if Boseman had created a will, the significant amount in legal expenditures may have been avoided. Three years after his cancer diagnosis, Boseman secretly married Taylor Simone Ledward in 2019. They were dating prior to the actor's illness.

At the time of his passing, Boseman had roles in the Black-American historical dramas '42', 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom', 'Get On Up', and 'Da 5 Bloods,' as well as the highest earning superhero picture in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 'Black Panther.'
