West Ham United has turned down a £90m offer from Manchester City, the reigning Treble winners, for their captain Declan Rice.
City's proposal reportedly included an £80m upfront payment, but fell short of West Ham's valuation of £100m for the talented midfielder.
Meanwhile, Arsenal is expected to make a third bid for Rice, as they continue their pursuit of the 24-year-old England international. West Ham had already rejected Arsenal's previous offer, which consisted of an initial payment of £75m spread across four installments, with an additional £15m in add-ons.
Rice's current contract with West Ham expires in 2024, although the club holds an option to extend it for an additional year until the summer of 2025.
Despite the Hammers' success in the Europa Conference League against Fiorentina, club chairman David Sullivan expressed his belief that Rice is likely to leave the club this summer, stating he was "99%" sure of his departure.
While City has already secured a £25m deal for Chelsea's Mateo Kovacic, the departure of Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona has heightened Pep Guardiola's desire to reinforce his midfield options.
Rice is regarded as the ideal candidate to strengthen City's midfield ranks.
