Popular social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has accused Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike of attempting to intimidate protesters in Abuja. Speaking just before police deployed tear gas at the Berger Roundabout on Friday, VeryDarkMan called on President Ahmed Tinubu to address the nation amidst the widespread protests.
“Government needs to engage with us, and Tinubu should speak to the public. Wike’s attempts to bully us are unjust,” he stated.
This statement comes as the hunger protest enters its second day in Abuja, Lagos, and other cities across the country. Earlier, an Abuja High Court issued an order limiting protests at the MKO Abiola National Stadium. While Wike urged compliance with the court order, protest leaders claimed they had not received an official copy.
