US Looks Forward’ To Response Of Nigerian Government
The United States has said it was looking forward to a response from the Lagos State Government after the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry submitted its final report.
The panel was commissioned by the state government to look into the events of October 2020, including the shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate, and review cases of police brutality.
The United States in a statement by the US Embassy in Lagos said it welcomes the conclusion of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry with the transmission of its final report.
After receiving the report from Justice Okwuobi-led panel, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the setting up a four-member committee to raise a White Paper on the report.
Speaking on Inspiration FM, All Out Politics, Lagos based lawyer, Barr Liborous Oshoma believes the report is an opportunity for government to reconcile with Nigerians.
He also said Governor Sanwo-Olu must find a means to appease to the families of the ENDSARS victims.
