Federal agents in the United States allegedly raided the jail cell of embattled rapper Diddy, confiscating personal notes and privileged materials intended for his legal team ahead of his upcoming trial.

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, accused prosecutors of using these seized materials to justify keeping the rapper in custody until his May 2025 trial. In a court filing submitted to Manhattan federal court, Diddy’s defense team argued that the confiscation violated his constitutional rights under the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments.

“These actions represent a clear breach of Diddy’s rights,” Agnifilo told Judge Arun Subramanian, demanding clarity on who authorized the raid and why legally privileged documents were taken.

The judge has ordered prosecutors to respond to the allegations by 5 p.m. ET on Monday and scheduled a hearing for Tuesday afternoon to address the matter.

Diddy has been in pre-trial detention since September 2024, as he awaits trial proceedings.
