The tragedy unfolded in Borno on Tuesday when a devastating fire engulfed the Muna Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp situated in the Muna area of the northeastern state.

Regrettably, two young lives were lost in the blaze that occurred at the Muna Alamdari IDP camp in Maiduguri. At present, authorities have not been able to determine the root cause of the fire. Neither the Borno State Police Command nor the state government have issued any statements regarding the incident.

Borno has been profoundly affected by the persistent Boko Haram insurgency for more than a decade, resulting in numerous casualties and displacing countless individuals.
