Cristiano Ronaldo endured a frustrating night, missing a first-half penalty and seeing another effort denied by Kasper Schmeichel. Portugal took the lead when Denmark’s Joachim Andersen headed Bruno Fernandes’ corner into his own net, but the visitors responded through Rasmus Kristensen’s header in the second half.

Ronaldo made amends for his earlier miss, turning in Fernandes’ shot off the post to restore Portugal’s lead, only for Christian Eriksen to equalize minutes later after capitalizing on a defensive lapse.

With the match heading for extra time, Trincao struck just after being introduced, slotting home in the 91st minute before Gonçalo Ramos sealed the win with a late goal. Portugal will now face Germany in the semi-finals.
