Tobi Amusan, the current world record-holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, showcased her speed and skill once again by setting a new world-leading time of 12.40 (0.9 m/s). Amusan expressed her satisfaction with her performance, highlighting her improved health this season compared to previous years. She emphasized her determination to avoid disqualification and praised her execution in the race, despite acknowledging areas for improvement.

Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, John Enoh, congratulated Amusan on her achievement, recognizing her dominant win at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational. Enoh praised her victory over world champion Danielle Williams and encouraged her to continue making Nigeria proud as the Paris Olympics approach.

Amusan’s triumph sets a positive tone for Nigeria's prospects at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she is expected to play a key role in the country's pursuit of medals.
