President Bola Tinubu has intervened in the seeming political crisis in Rivers State between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
The Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, disclosed this shortly after the Police Council meeting at the State House in Abuja.
The police council headed by the president includes all the state governors and the FCT minister, many of whom were present for the meeting.
Governor Mohammed said the President was willing to douse the tensions and perceived fallout between them.
The PDP governors later had an emergency meeting where they expressed satisfaction with the leadership qualities displayed by President Tinubu.
He said the opposition governors will continue to support the president in discharging his duties.
The governors also decided to meet with Fubara and Wike later today.
