President Bola Tinubu is set to leave for Paris, France, on Wednesday for a two-week working visit, according to a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Titled “President Tinubu to Embark on Working Visit to Paris,” the statement outlined the purpose of the trip, noting that Tinubu will evaluate his administration’s mid-term achievements and key milestones during his stay.
A correspondent observed the President’s convoy leaving his official residence around 11:00 a.m. local time. The Presidency explained that the visit will serve as a retreat to “review the progress of ongoing reforms and engage in strategic planning” ahead of the administration’s second anniversary. “This reflective period will shape strategies to enhance ongoing reforms and fast-track national development priorities for the coming year,” the statement elaborated.
Highlighting recent economic gains, the Presidency pointed to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s report of net foreign exchange reserves rising to $23.11 billion—a sharp increase from $3.99 billion in 2023—underscoring the success of fiscal reforms under Tinubu’s leadership. While abroad, the President will stay actively involved with his team and continue managing governance tasks. The statement concluded, “He will return to Nigeria in about a fortnight.”
