In an effort to improve the state’s judicial system, the Jigawa State Judicial Service Commission has sworn in 19 recently appointed Sharia Court judges.
Justice Umar M. Sadiq, the Chief Judge and Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission, stressed during his remarks at the event how important the new judges are to the interpretation of Islamic law and the settlement of conflicts.
He also exhorted them to preserve the integrity of the judiciary, support justice, and abstain from corruption.
He claims that in order to guarantee their profound comprehension of Islamic law and dedication to justice, the recently hired Alkalis underwent extensive training and a tough selection procedure.
“It is anticipated that their appointment will strengthen Jigawa State’s Sharia court system and increase access to justice for all communities.”
“It is your responsibility to make sure justice is carried out without fear or favor because the people have high expectations.” To keep the judiciary free of unethical activities, you must abstain from all sorts of bribery and corruption, Justice Sadiq said.
Khadi Sani Salihu, the Grand Khadi of Jigawa State, urged the new judges in his speech to uphold the values of Islamic law and to continue to be dedicated to justice and openness.
He reminded them that everyone was watching them and that the public’s confidence in the judiciary will be based on how they behaved.
