Nigeria now has eight medals overall in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games thanks to Taiwo Liadi's addition of silver.
To finish behind England's Maya Laylor, who established a new Commonwealth Games record in the clean and jerk with a lift of 128 kg, Liadi, who participated in the women's 76 kg weightlifting event, set a new junior record.
Liadi outperformed 11 other competitors in the clean and jerk by lifting 120 kg, breaking the junior record.
Adijat Olarinoye and Rafiat Lawal won the two gold medals and established new Commonwealth Games records, giving Nigeria a total of two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in weightlifting.
