Still looking for ways to get striking resident doctors back to work, the Federal Government has kicked against the threat by the Joint Health Sector Union to embark on strike.
While describing the threat as ridiculous, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said the federal government would meet with the leadership of JOHESU tomorrow to address the union’s concerns.
Inspiration FM recalls that JOHESU at the weekend, through its President, Josiah Biobelemonye, issued a 15-day ultimatum to the labour minister and other stakeholders in Abuja.
JOHESU comprises of associations of nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists and other health workers and observers fear
that should the union go on strike, government hospitals in the country will grind to a halt.
