Nigerian singer Destiny Boy and his partner Iremide are celebrating the arrival of their first child, a baby boy. The 20-year-old artist shared the happy news on Instagram early Wednesday, posting photos of Iremide and their newborn son.
“Alhamdulillah. Junior is here. My first son,” Destiny Boy wrote, drawing a wave of congratulations from fans and fellow artists.
Born Afeez Adeshina, Destiny Boy launched his career with a distinct Fuji-inspired sound. He began at T2 Boys Studios in Agege, initially performing as a backup dancer for Fuji legend Pasuma. His 2019 Fuji cover of Davido’s hit song “If” catapulted him into the spotlight, and he went on to create viral covers of songs by artists like Tekno, 2Baba, 9ice, and Small Doctor.
Destiny Boy’s own discography includes hits like Lamba, One Transaction, Gbese, Billion Dollar, Mio Gbonkankan, and Lowkey, each blending Fuji with contemporary Nigerian music styles, making him a unique voice in the industry.
