January 24, 2023 Singer Blackface Calls Out Asake Over Intellectual Property Theft

Blackface, a Nigerian musician from the now-defunct Plantashun Boiz, has criticized Asake, a junior colleague, for allegedly stealing.

Blackface charged Asake with not getting his approval before remixing his song in a series of tweets. He took notice of the artist's attempts to outwit him, but he is much more intelligent than Asake believes.

He was persuaded by Blackface to act morally or face his wrath.

“You spend 165k dollars to shoot a music video for your artist. Una no fit use 100 naira call the owner of the song before una remix am. Una dey form say una smart I believe. E better make una do the right thing because of this one I no go sorry for una! I dey come”.

Blackface responded to his Twitter followers by providing further details regarding the music theft.

He pointed out that although many aspiring musicians enjoy music, it doesn't give them the right to sample, recreate, or remix works he has previously published without his consent.

Blackface said, "Yet many prefer to trust them, even if they are the ones that undermine him."

"I know the love song. But does it allow them license to sample, reproduce, or remix my previously published works without my consent? They must be the ones undermining me as they steal my stuff since some people don't know what's genuine and what's not.

He added, “My people are never like just some uncreative stage occupies stealing others intellectual properties without fear of copyright laws.

“Them never use them as an example yet very soon copycats go find out say they can run but they can’t hide”.
