Seyi Awolowo, Ex Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, has revealed why he made the misogynistic statement about women.
He explained that his statement resulted from stress, causing him to express his frustrations unintentionally and inappropriately.
Recall that while in the house, Seyi said he would encourage his sons to have sex with other people’s daughters without consent.
His statement received lots of backlash from Nigerians and was even condemned by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).
After being confronted by Big Brother, Seyi Awolowo apologized to the general public and his fellow housemates for his statement.
In a recent interview with Ebuka after his exit from the reality show, Seyi admitted in tears that he fumbled and apologised again to his family and the public.
He said, “What I said was really, really nasty. That was like the bottom of the bottom type of nasty stuff, and I’m really sorry, and I don’t even know what else I could do but say sorry.
“I live for my family, and it’s almost as if I don’t know how I’m going to go from here 'cause that’s the kind of thing that makes you toxic material for any brand or anybody. I’m just confused.”
He explained that the house's energy and stress got to him, hence the statement.
“I was venting at the wrong time, in the wrong way. Yes, I’m human, and I have the right to make mistakes, but for myself, that was…nah.”
